Small Vintage Sequined Bridal Throw
Authentic Handira vintage hand-woven large bridal throw; made from hand spun wool and cotton, restored by Laila, of a cooperative in Zayane in the Middle Atlas region in Morocco.
The story behind the Moroccan wedding blanket, also called ,''Handira'' is beautiful. According to ancient Moroccan Berber tradition from the Middle Atlas Mountains, the Handira was worn by the bride on her wedding day, on the way to the house of her husband. The Handira stood for happiness, fertility and protection against evil.
Vintage Moroccan wedding blankets are very popular but difficult to obtain in good condition. The white blankets are even more rare.
This small bridal throw is a luxurious and a perfect gift for a loved one on their special day.
